Phlebotomist - Laboratory
JOB SUMMARY:
The Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for performing patient phlebotomies, general laboratory maintenance of the out-patient area, point of care (POC) testing and pertinent record keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Graduation from high school is preferred with emphasis on science courses.
B. Training and Experience: On-the-job training: one year experience that includes completion of current ASCP, NAACLS phlebotomy requirements, American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, or National Phlebotomy Association.
C. Upon Completion of Training: Willing and able to sit for Registry (ASCP or NPT) within 18 months of hire in order to comply with IDPH and JCAHO standards.
D. Job Knowledge: In addition to phlebotomy techniques, the Laboratory Phlebotomist must be capable of preparing accurate reports and correct filing. He or she should have some knowledge of POC equipment.
Additional Information Position Type : Part Time Shift : Day Hourly Wage: $15.50 - $21.33 per/hour (Actual wage depends on experience.)
