Respiratory Therapist or CRTT
Job Description
The Respiratory Care Practitioner, (RRT or CRT) with the knowledge and skill to administer all forms of respiratory assistance. The RCP is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of assigned patients. The role requires active participation among various departments within the hospital. Strong communication skills and patient advocacy are critical and expected. The RCP must comply with all local, state, and federal accrediting bodies.

Job Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the State of Illinois
• BLS
• ACLS
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift a maximum weight of 30 pounds for a distance of 4-15 feet.
• Must be able to carry a weight of 30 pounds at a distance of 15 feet.
• Must be able to push and pull, reach and bend.
• Must be able to stand in place for long periods.
• Sitting is approximately 2-3 hours per shift for no more than one hour at a time.
• Walking is approximately 1-2 hours total per shift on carpet or tile surfaces.
• Must be able to climb and have good balance.
Environmental and Job Hazards
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases (airborne, bloodborne, and contact), toxic substances, ionizing radiation preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital environment.

• ABG Puncture and Analysis
• Medicated Aerosol therapies, Bronchial Hygiene Therapies, Lung Expansion Therapies
• Routine Oxygen Delivery, Devices, and Oximetry
• Airway Management and Suctioning
• Ventilator Management
• Effective Oral, Written, and Verbal Communication
• Time Management and Multi-Tasking
• BLS
• Good computer skills and documentation
Additional Information Position Type : Full Time Shift : Night Hourly Wage: $26.16 - $40.76 per/hour (Actual wage depends on experience.)
